DailyLight Journal ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Bucket & Mop Co. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use DailyLight Journal.

DailyLight is a personal journaling app designed to help you capture thoughts, track moods, and reflect on your day with daily prompts and secure cloud sync.

Privacy-First Design

Your journal entries are private by default. They are encrypted in transit and at rest, and are never shared with third parties. Only you have access to your journal content.

Beta Testing Notice

DailyLight is currently in active beta testing. Beta users may be contacted for optional feedback surveys to help improve the app. During this phase, we collect crash reports and performance data to improve stability.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Email address, display name (optional)
  • Journal Entries: Text content, photos, and attachments you add to entries
  • Mood Data: Mood selections and mood tracking history
  • Tags: Custom tags you create to organize entries

  • Data Export: You can export your entire journal in standard formats (JSON, PDF) at any time from the app settings

Your Data, Your Control

You can export or delete your data at any time from the app settings. We believe your journal belongs to you, and you should always have full control over it.

Your Rights

You can:

  • Access all your journal entries at any time
  • Export your complete journal data
  • Edit or delete any entry
  • Delete your entire account and all associated data
  • Opt out of optional features like daily prompts
  • Choose to use the app offline-only (no cloud sync)

Children's Privacy

DailyLight Journal is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy and will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of DailyLight after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
